Class Closures:

Our Beginners Introduction to
Aerial Pilates & Yoga (Begin & Improve) 6 Week Course:

Book Your Hammock from 2nd Dec - IN STUDIO Aerial Pilates & Yoga (Begin & Improve) - book this 6 week pass membership and then select the 8th January to book in. (Any issues as ever, contact Tanya directly.)
In this course, we take the best from Pilates and Yoga and fitness and strength training to build upper body, core and leg strength. You will also stretch all the muscles in the body, develop balance and coordination and have fun along the way with some interesting little tricks in the hammock! Then melt away in your lovely cocoon to wind down and relax at the end of the practice.
This class is totally different as it is activity based training - ie it doesn’t feel like you are doing ‘exercise’ but you build along the way - a more fun and interesting way!! Limited places left - so sign up now!!
Please note - this class is not suitable if you are affected by any shoulder injuries, vertigo, high blood pressure or any conditions affected by this, or if you are pregnant.

We cover the basic fundamentals of Pilates to introduce you to the core values and to feel them in your body as we begin to build the connections from body and mind to build strength, mobility, balance, coordination, breathwork and help improve your overall health. Then we develop them for best effect! We focus on what your body needs and deep diving into concepts when needed to help you develop further.
The beginners classes are suitable for some injuries, post natal and anyone! Get in touch with Tanya prior if you currently are affected by any injuries or conditions to be sure this is suitable for you.
Classes at TDR are more bespoke and specific and work towards your longevity, efficiency and improving your healthspan - more focussed than anyone around! We use a variety of small equipment to cover a wider range of the Pilates repertoire adapted from the large equipment like the reformer, chair, cadillac and spine corrector to bring you even more benefits and body feedback.

The gentle Yoga class in our warm cosy studio is a beginners class suitable for some injuries, post natal and anyone! Get in touch with Tanya prior if you currently are affected by any injuries or conditions to be sure this is suitable for you.
Begin & Improve is suitable for anyone that wants more movement in their lives, and are not restricted with any issues or injuries.
Our Yoga classes involve movements and poses which are selected to be more bespoke within the attending group to help you develop your movements alongside improving your mobility, stretching, strength, posture, breath work and relaxation.

Important Note - Price Increase For All Services Booked From Jan 2025
Please be aware that all services have had to increase in price.
I have kept prices lower than advised since covid, but I now have to align with inflation sadly.
All new prices will apply from 1st January 2025 for classes and appointments.
These can now be viewed in studio and on the website posters.
For any prepaid packs and services - if purchased and used in Dec - Dec prices apply. If they cross over into January, a small surcharge will need to be paid when next attended in January to align to the new pricing.
All prices will be set on the booking system to the new prices from 1st Dec for booking appointments and from 2nd Dec for class sign ups. If you are prepaying for any service to be used in Dec - contact Tanya to arrange the correct payment amount as these will be chargeable at the Dec rate.

Summer Holidays at TDR - Class and Clinic Opening & Closure Dates
Happy holidays are coming!! Just keeping you up to date with our planned closures for the upcoming holiday periods to help you plan ahead.
You can still book online for any service or class via the website links to TeamUp.
Remember if you still want to do a class when we are closed (to earn brownie points!), you can use one of the last 2 classes you attended at the end of June (accessible over the summer), ON Demand classes (monthly members only), and you also have free access to the library of classes on Youtube where there is Pilates, Yoga and Stretching classes for many levels and Body Conditioning also.
Summer’s Coming!!
So TDR is now closed for the summer term break. We will be open again from Tuesday 16th July. The booking system Teamup will hopefully keep you on course - as you can still book in and amend bookings as needed while I am off!
Clinic Closures
* 1st - 16th July, current bookings are available in August at present.
* You can book online after this date via Teamup from the website appointments (which searches in 2 week intervals so please amend the search dates. Currently bookings are into August.)
Class Closures
* 1st - 22nd July - all classes are off.
* 26th - 29th August - all classes are off for the bank holiday week.
Classes in The Summer Term
Classes are fully back on as normal again from Monday 29th July.
(Monthly membership fees are paid on 1st July and nothing then paid on 1st August.)
Additional Summer Drop In Classes

* Thursday 25th July 10am Pilates - all levels
Please contact Tanya to book in for these classes at your usual drop in class rate - otherwise the full drop in rate is applied on booking of £10 per class.

Tanya’s Class Closures
All classes are off for the month of July*
The last classes will be on Thursday 29th June, and we start back for the *Monday crew - we start back on Monday 31st July, then classes resume as normal for August.
Subject to numbers, there may be a reduced timetable in August with some classes amalgamating (You will be contacted by text if this is the case.)
August Bank Holiday - classes are off 28th to 31st August for the last bank holiday weekend and then return to our normal timetable in September through to Christmas!
I have never given you soooo long off the classes, as we normally have kept running except the July fortnight. Additional time is needed this year as the studio and hall are being redecorated - to freshen up ready for more!

Tanya’s clinic will be closed from 1st-16th July 2022 and also 28th August to 3rd September, inclusive
You can book in online as all availability is displayed in the searches on Teamup for booking appointments (just remember it searches in 2 week blocks, so if you don’t see any appointments, select the next date to search from).
Additional appointment times are available from 17th to 28th July as classes are taking a break.

Sports Massage with James
While Tanya is away, James will still be available for Sports Massage Appointments through Kalá Massage at TDR Academy.

June 2022
The classes will be running as normal from Thursday 23rd - Thursday 30th June with the ever active and bubbly Tracy covering for Tanya.
The Thursday 10am class will run on Tuesday 21st instead of the 23rd with Tanya, and there will be no 10am class on 30th June, so make sure to jump in for another class that week in the evenings to keep you moving.
Also:
Thursday 30th June 6.30pm class has been amalgamated in with the 7.30pm Pilates class.
Mon 27th June 8.30pm class has been amalgamated in with the 7.30pm gentle yoga class.
Thursday 30th June 6.30pm class has been amalgamated in with the 7.30pm Pilates class.
If you are changing class or want to, you can do this on mindbody, and use the appropriate zoom sign ins from below if attending online.

Also remember on mon 27th June there is a parade in the town scheduled 6-10pm, so if attending in studio, allow time for parking. Details were posted onto the TDR Academy Facebook page and on the Love Ballyclare page about where they are going.

Classes at TDR - What to Expect In Studio and Online Training Tips
Our classes are back in full swing in the studio! So great to see so many of you back in person again!

Quick Update!
We can now accept your £100 high street vouchers! You have to call in to use it as chip and pin purchase, and the credit can be applied to your account with us to spend over the next 3 months. Invest in your health!
We are now accepting Apple Pay and contactless card payments.
I have also updated the payment system on Mindbody, as all classes are now on the same pricing system. You will notice it is either a:
1 Class Pass (Drop In - previously PAYG) or
6 Class Pass (1 Class/Wk for 6 Wks), and
The LIVE & UNLIMITED ONLINE 1, 2 and 4 Wk Class Passes are also still available, enabling you to practice as many times as you want!

In Studio Classes - the nuts and bolts:
In studio classes have a maximum of 4 mats at present, which allows us to keep between 1-2m social distancing.
Masks are to be worn when moving about in communal areas, and can be removed when on your mat.
Please arrive no more than 5 mins prior to your class time and wait in the studio 1 waiting area if there is a class already on in studio 2.
Temperatures are being checked on arrival.
Our wellness policy means you must be fully well to attend in studio classes (and treatments). Any sniffles, sore throats or other covid, cold and flu symptoms, feeling under the weather and well any bugs really - please stay at home and practice online with us instead. We want everyone to stay safe from everything in this climate! Text Tanya prior if you are unsure - but any doubts - best to stay at home! (First time attending in studio - complete our covid screening form online when you receive your text from Tanya.)
Bring a mat and any props (pillow, belt, blocks, bands) with you for your personal use.
Classes are set at a maximum capacity of 15 at present (4 in studio and 11 online at present).
Remember that you can use the Mindbody booking system via your web browser for the full site or through the app to book and change your classes and appointments as needed.
Note - If you know you can’t attend in studio when your mat is booked, please text Tanya asap to enable someone else to avail of the place due to our limited mat spaces.
How to Get the Best From Online Classes
“Training online at home with zoom classes can sometimes feel less of a challenge!” - Is this you?!
I hear this from time to time. I actually prefer training at home than in a class - personal preference!
I do enjoy classes, but I love to be able to immerse myself in the quiet of my personal training space.
So I have put a few pointers down to help you get the best out of online sessions, here are some suggestions to get you set up practically, mentally and physically.
Practical Set-up:
Prepare your workout space - your mat and all possible props within easy reach.
Aim to have a quiet space, closed off for you (with a do not disturb sign on the door if need be!), even locking the door so no-one can pull you away!
Set up your device to be easily seen and to see you sideways on when on your mat as best as possible.
You can have music playing if you prefer to be on mute when the class is on.
Ensure the lighting inspires your mood (bright or dim as needed) and the temperature is warm enough to help you for the warm-up in the class.
Physical Prep:
Arrive on time for your class with zoom set-up and being ready in the waiting room with the view of your mat set-up (preferably so I can see the long edge of your mat).
If your class starts a little late, use this as time to settle your body on to your mat - this is your time so make use of every second.
Dress for class just as you would if attending in studio in loose comfortable clothing. PJs are great, but sometimes not as comfortable a fit for movement or as breathable.
Have some water handy to rehydrate during the class.
Mental Prep:
Whatever your mood, wear training clothing that inspires you and that feels very comfortable and easily breathable. Warm enough or cool enough as you require, layering often works best. Like I said, PJs are great, but that isn’t getting your headspace into your focussed training zone!
If you have had a hectic day - allow time to sit comfortably or lie on your mat and take a few deep breaths to close your mind off to what was in your day, and ensure to give yourself permission for this time now to recharge and agree you will get back to ‘life’ when you have completed your ‘you‘ time. Sometimes our minds need reasoned with!
This is also good practice even if you haven’t had a hectic day! Whatever your day has been, prepare by slowing your mind down and being aware of your thoughts, take a few breaths and be aware of how your body is feeling. This is your tuning in time prior to the class starting. Then…set your intention for your practice - what is your goal for today?
We always give you choices, but choose wisely! After noting how you are feeling, work with your body and not against it. Just because we give you a stronger option, doesn’t mean you have to take it. That works both ways. If you are setting your intention for your practice to challenge yourself, then do, but still listen to your body and do what it feels it can manage within the challenge. Body and mind happiness results!
Remember what your reasons are for joining the classes in the first place - what brings you to your mat, what do you hope to gain? Focussing on your goals will help you to stay tuned in to follow along and challenge yourself. What you do is for yourself and no-one else, so make your actions work for you and your happiness.
Do remember this is live and online, we can see you! If there is something we need to advise you on, we will. Everyone is quieter on zoom, but if there is anything you want to ask or say -= we would love to hear it as we want to make this the best training space for you.

What a warm and wet summer!
Thank you for all your concern regarding my poor flooded car Bertha from the floods in Ballyclare a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully I have now been able to replace her with a new Bert! Insurance thankfully has kicked in! It's been a mad time!
With the last throws of summer left and schools starting back next week, it seemed appropriate to take a break as we just don't know what lies ahead. Busy schedules I'm thinking for the next few weeks for sure!

Classes Update
If you are currently attending classes - can you please check your Mindbody account that you have completed the emergency contact person and contact number sections. This will update the system just in case (heaven forbid) something happens to you when you are on screen! Please check this asap thanks. (This can't be done in the APP, so login via the black link at the top of any page on my website tdracademy.co.uk.)
When back in the studio September, we are able to have 3 back in the studio for classes, unless social distancing changes again. You must contact me to book in for IN STUDIO as places are limited. Attendance will be on a rota basis if numbers wishing to attend are over 3.
If you wish to change to in studio from at home classes, please let me know as soon as possible as plans are being out in place and rota systems for those wishing to attend.
If you know you definitely want to stay online permanently going forward, please let Tanya know this also - as this will impact on how many spaces each class can have going forward.

Time To Start Now & July Holidays
TDR Academy is closing for a holiday! So I am taking a break, but as usual I do not want to leave you with nothing.

Tanya will be taking appointments from 19th July onwards although the diary is filling fast (fully booked prior to this)!

Yin yoga workshop on 15th July
Because it’s so popular, Tanya’s holding another yin yoga workshop on Monday 15th July 7.30-9.30pm - a great wee treat to yourself after the holiday week. Take the time to enhance your self awareness, tune your insight and access your own inner wisdom. Yin is about the feeling and involves “unhurried postures unstained by striving” (Sarah Powers). Lisburn Half Marathon on 19th June
Amazing news! Gary and his colleagues were at the Lisburn Half Marathon last week supporting the runners by providing recovery advice and pre and post event sports massage for all runners entered - and all for a good cause!
They raised £72.20 on the night for the MS Society NI, bringing the total we've raised for this brilliant charity to over £600!!!

We’re all wondering whether Spring will ever arrive. The few brave daffodils are almost blown over and we’re still having to wear hats and scarves when we venture outside. But undeterred, we’re all looking forward to some time off this Easter, with the long weekend and school holidays ahead of us.
Please note that there will be no classes from Friday 30th March - Thursday 5th April, EXCEPT
- 6.30pm aerial fitness on Wednesday 4th April - still running!
- 10am Pilates on Thursday 29th is additionally off for Easter.
All classes are back firing on all cylinders as usual on Friday 6th April.
Tanya is available as usual except Easter Saturday through to Easter Monday.
Upcoming Special Events
- We are having 2 special Aerial and Acrobatic workshops, held on Saturday 7th April - check it out! A blast after Easter to look forward to with Tina Machina of Tumble Circus! Only a few places remaining!!
- Later in April we will be offering another opportunity to calm the mind before exam time and before the summer rush to get holiday planning! Why not join our Mindfulness Morning on Saturday 28th April - 2.5 hours for you?

The Halloween Holidays are Coming!
TDR Academy is closed Monday 30th October - no classes or appointments. No classes on Tuesday 31st October, but you can have appintments. Everything open as usual on Wednesday 1st November.
We know we’ve probably told ye in person already, but just a reminder that we’re CLOSED on Monday 30th October for Halloween - no classes or appointments at all. There will be no classes on Tuesday the 31st, but you’ll be able to come for massage and appointments for injury assessment and treatment.
Everything will be back to normal on Wednesday 1st November.
Why not make some time for you this Halloween and make an appointment for a Sports Massage?!
- Gary will be available to book in for general sports massages to aid your recovery and relieve tight muscles.
- Various times are available as usual - Monday 10am-3.30pm and Wednesday and Thursday evenings 5.30-8.15pm.
