This 6 week course is being hosted by Tanya Ross, lead Therapist and Teacher at TDR Academy of Movement and Therapy in Ballyclare. It is suitable for anyone who has an interest in learning the basics of Pilates to begin their journey in learning about the Pilates Method. Even if you have practiced Pilates before, revisiting and retuning the fundamentals will help strengthen your practice by focussing on what makes Pilates truly effective.

Our Yin Yoga practice will involve poses to open the centres of the body to release you from the sympathetic nervous system's control (ie fight or flight mode) to the parasympathetic nervous system's control (ie reset for calm, relax, heal, repair and conserve). Stability Ball Training...to Inversions and Beyond
The stability ball is an amazing aid to use to develop so many areas of the body - and best of all, it's great fun with some challenging play! We cover Pilates fundamentals on the ball to aid core stability (ie to help you stay in the ball!), shoulder and hip stabilisation, core development, upper and lower body exercises and at times even a little bit of cardio! This is definitely a class with a core focus!
You will also have the options of progressing further to the ultimate balance work - handstands, headstands and forearm balances. These will be optional - and fear not if you wish to stick to the ball - there are lots of fun ways to keep conditioning you throughout!
