I have been seeing Tanya for 2 years, and she really has worked hard to greatly reduce my pain levels, and increase my mobility, by re-educating me on everything from balance and the way that I walk.
I really appreciate the effort that Tanya goes to, that adapts all treatments to a personal level that suits me and my particular issues.
Tanya has given me back the will and ability to be more active in every day life.

Pilates Reformer and Equipment Studio

Each piece of equipment brings it's own challenges:

Reformer - invented by Joseph Pilates to support the matwork using springs and a moving carriage it enables you to feel greater feedback within your body to be more precise and can align, strengthen and lengthen you in very specific ways giving you an amazing session.
Wunda Chair - offers unique challenges to your core stability and whole body integration.
The Springboard - allows the body to work under tension or to be assisted by the springs, similar to the Pilates tower, allowing the body to strengthen and improve technique on many Pilates movements and to lengthen out muscles you didn't think needed lengthening!
Ladder Barrel aims to lengthen and stretch like nothing else you have felt before!
Spine Corrector aims to lengthen and stretch and connect the all around core and spinal mobility!

  • Suitable for anyone at any level and can aid alignment/posture improvement, rehabilitation for many issues and for all over strength training with dynamic muscle length development for life or to supplement sports training.

  • The equipment is selected as appropriate for what your body needs which is assessed at every stage to see where we can delve in further to improve how your body moves, feels and ultimately challenges you to develop your body in a positive way.

Aerial Hammock - Yoga & Pilates

Aerial Yoga & Pilates offers a fun and challenging twist to Yoga and Pilates movements, using a hammock! The versatility of the hammock allows for many variations of movement from Yoga and Pilates to deepen the practice, and elements of fitness and strength training similar to TRX cables. The poses and postures can be more challenging that traditional mat based practice, but the hammocks can also offer a supportive approach, similar to Iyengar Yoga rope work.  There is also an Aerial Acrobatics element which allows play with deeper poses, inversions and aerial tricks, which are sure to leave you smiling!  The essential Savasana at the end of class involves relaxing in a cocoon!   There is nothing quite like this - just chill out and let your mind and body float!

  • Suitable for any level, age, males and females, with no experience required.

  • Classes are for up to 6 or simply as a 1:1 session.

  • The hammock can even be used for back care, to decompress the spine through inversions.

  • Unsuitable for certain medical conditions and pregnancy - please speak to Tanya to establish if you can partake in these sessions.

Aerial Fitness

These sessions can involve training on one type or a variety of the aerial and gymnastics equipment to develop your skills, strength, flexibility, coordination and fitness!  You can come as a beginner, or to practice your current skills base - available for Hammock, Hoop, Pole, Trapeze, Gymnastics Rings and Mini Parallettes. A training challenge without feeling like you’re training!

Each session involves a warm-up, gymnastics and calisthenics style training and conditioning, time to work on your choice of equipment and skills, and a cool-down with stretching. Coaching and spotting is always available to help your learn and develop safely.

  • Suitable for any level, age (adults), males and females, with no experience required.

  • Only available as 1:1 sessions.

  • Unsuitable for certain medical conditions and pregnancy - please speak to Tanya to establish if you can partake in these sessions.

Aerial Hoop and Static Trapeze

Aerial Hoop or Lyra is a exciting and fun way to train, without it feeling like you are training!  The circus based tricks and poses in the hoop are challenging and beautiful.

Static trapeze is another form of aerial circus training similar to aerial hoop, but with it’s own different challenges.

Pole Fitness

There are many styles of Pole training, with Pole Fitness, Pole Sport and Chinese Pole styles being the focus at TDR Academy.  It develops strength, flexibility and co-ordination.  Skills are practiced and combinations of moves are developed, with routine work being the ultimate all round strength and fitness workout. Pole sessions start off with less skin contact being needed to learn new skills, but as you improve skin contact is needed to grip the pole.

Adult Gymnastics / Calisthenics

Free movement to build your primal movement and muscle activation patterns with links to gymnastics and diving conditioning training.  The basic gymnastics skills are developed including handstands and other arm balances and inversions. Training methods adopted are based on general gymnastics training, partner acrobatics (if 2:1) and with options for basic mens' gymnastics skills training.  The gymnastics rings, parallettes and floor based skills will be sure to challenge you!
